COMPUTER USE POLICY

Clovis-Carver Public Library

 

The Internet may be used by all patrons for instructional or recreational purposes while keeping the following rules in mind.

1.      ANYONE WHO DELETES OR ADDS A PROGRAM, RESETS COMPUTER SETTINGS, OR MOVES ICONS WILL BE CHARGED $50.00 TO COVER REPAIRS.

2.      PLEASE DO NOT DOWNLOAD ONTO THE HARD DRIVE.

3.      You may also buy a diskette at the Circulation Desk for $1.00 each.

4.      Library rules prohibit obscene displays in the building.  Violators may be denied access to the library. 

5.      You must present a Clovis Carver Library Card in order to use a terminal.  No computer may be used by an individual cardholder or by a linked patron with a total outstanding fine or bill in excess of $5.00.

6.      Non-residents must present a current drivers license or ID card in order to use a computer.

7.      You may use the computer for one hour.  If no one is waiting for a turn at the end of that time, you may sign up for thirty minutes more.  Each user may have a maximum of two hours per day.

8.      Please be sure that you want copies before you print them.  Regular copies are 10 cents per page and color copies are $1.00 per page for both full and partial pages, and whether or not the print command was intended.

9.      Children aged TWELVE AND UNDER must have an adult sitting with them at the terminal.

10.  Juveniles aged 13 to 18 must have a parent’s or guardian’s signature on the Internet policy.  Only two persons will be allowed on one computer, unless approved by Library staff.  If both persons are minors, both must have a parent or guardian’s signature on the User’s Agreement.
