How wild is it that in a parking lot in downtown Clovis, New Mexico we're out here looking at Jupiter and four moons.

Jupiter is the itty bitty dot straight above the street light, and the big dot above the pink lense reflection. The fourth moon is hiding under the top point of that reflection, and the three other moons are seen above Jupiter.

Roy brought out his barrel scope.
And that's the moon in my (Sara's) scope. First time it's been set up since 2020, and I found the moon! We're all very proud. 🤓

And look at the colours in that sunset. Wow.

We had a great time staring at the sun this afternoon! Safely through telescopes with filters, that is. (I know it's hard to tell in this phone-on-a-telescope pic, but those are solar prominences at the bottom right, and they're massive and so clear in the eyepiece! 😲)
